EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a well-researched psychotherapy method that is proven to help people recover from trauma and other negative life experiences.
EMDR uses a comprehensive 8 phase treatment model that prepares a person for trauma work, as well as identifying and accessing traumatic memories that can be fueling one's system. When a relevant traumatic memory is targeted, bilateral stimulation is used to activate the brain's processing system to help these traumatic memories to lose their charge and be filed away without the overwhelm. As the brain heals, it's common for new learning to take place, cognitive insights to emerge and emotional stress is resolved.
